Going on another diet is certainly not a favorite thought of most of us. For me I would rather think about going on a roller coaster that makes me hurl than to even think about dieting. Weight losing is a challenge for many of us and yet it really need not be that way. Each of us needs to remind our self that obesity is not only an appearance issue it is a serious health issue that has almost become an epidemic in the United States. Obesity is associated with hypertension, sleep apnea, heart ailments, diabetes, some cancers and other health issues. Obesity shortens our life expectation and the solution is weight losing. Since we realize that we need to lose weight here are 5 tips that will help you. You have likely heard many of these tips before and will hear them again. If you are like me sometimes we need to be reminded of something more than once for the idea to really sink in.
Start a log a simple small notepad that will fit into your pocket or purse will do. Keep track of everything you eat and drink. Estimate the amount and when you ate it. Note what you were feeling when you ate. Were you hungry or just felt it was time to eat? Were you happy, sad or stressed? Just simple notes that you and you alone will see. Also enter all physical activity into your log. This can be anything from walking, doing housework, and gardening to walking stairs instead of the elevator. The idea of these notes is to give you a better understanding of your physical activity and what you may need to do to promote better calorie burning. After one week analyze your log and see what you actually have been eating, how much, when and how you felt. This will help you better understand why it may be difficult to maintain your weight.
Plan how you are going to go about weight losing. What type of a diet fits in best with your lifestyle? Is it an organized plan where you attend meetings? A medically supervised plan? A plan where they prepare meals for you? When looking at different plans it is more important that you select one that you can live with for long term than to select one only because it promises quick weight loss.
Once the original week of maintaining a log is over where you analyzed what you were eating and the amount of physical activity you were getting continue on with that Personal Log. The log becomes like a “nagging parent or spouse” it watches over you and you don’t want to do something wrong because you know that you have to write it down. Your log also enables you to better understand why you are perhaps adding weight back on instead of losing it.
When you fall off the wagon and cheat just pick back up from where you left off. All of us are going to be tempted from time to time and sometimes we just need to have that slice of cheesecake or chocolate bar to remind ourself we are still human.
Look for easy ways to add to your exercise such as parking your car farther away from the main entrance to the shopping center to using stairs instead of the elevator. It is really amazing how many more calories that can be burnt by adding to your body movement this way.
I wish you the best on your weight losing success!

Being overweight increases your risk for high blood pressure, high cholesterol level, heart diseases, or diabetes. If you think that you can no longer zip your pants, you might want to consider trimming down.

Weight loss requires patience, perseverance and discipline. If you want to lose weight, you can always seek help from specialists such as a dietician or a nutritionist. Or you can lose weight on your own. If you decide to lose weight on your own, the simple weight losing tips that follow can help you:

1. Never go on a diet to lose weight.
Many people think that starving oneself can actually help in losing weight. But they’re wrong. Dieting doesn’t actually make you lose weight. Starving yourself doesn’t help you burn calories. Dieting can only cause a painful and souring stomach. And your body’s way of coping starvation is by eating more than what you needed.

2. Do not totally eliminate food, find alternatives instead.
Instead of eating a slice of cake during snacks, you can opt for high fiber snacks such as fruits or vegetable sticks. Go for a lighter, low calorie, and healthy snacks such as non-fat yogurt or a low-fat pudding.

3. Say no to flavored drinks.
Alcohol, soda, carbonated drinks, coffee, or fruit juices are all high in calories. You should limit drinking high-calorie drinks and lessen your consumption of sweetened drinks.  Drink water instead and save three hundred or more calories each day.

4. Eat slowly.
If you shovel everything into your mouth as fast as the speed of light, then you wouldn’t notice that your stomach is already full. As such, you consume more and more calories before you begin to feel full. You would definitely enjoy your food more if you slow down.

5. Do not overeat.
No matter how delicious the food can be, when you feel you’re already full, stop eating. Don’t eat more than what your body needs. Always remember, excess food means excess fats.

6. Do not deprive yourself from your favorite foods.
If you love ice cream or chocolate chip cookies, you do not have to push them away. Totally eliminating your favorites from your diet will only make you crave for more. You are on the safe side as long as you make sure you eat them moderately.

7. Cook healthy.
Healthy cooking helps in cutting fat and calories. Cut out fried foods. Frying uses cooking oils that are heavy in fat and may increase your body cholesterol level.  By boiling, grilling, roasting, baking, poaching, or steaming your food you eliminate the added oil.

8. Exercise.
What good can a well balanced diet be when you always slack off the couch? Exercising plays a very important role in losing weight. Exercising is a good way to burn up all those calories. In addition, exercise can help protect you from stroke, high blood pressure, heart diseases, and diabetes.

9. Be positive.
Losing weight doesn’t happen overnight. It is a slow process. You might not see the results immediately. But always think positive and focus on your goal.

These weight losing tips are just guidelines to a healthier body.  Losing weight is not that easy. You cannot lose weight fast. You have to set your devote your mind and commit your time when you seriously want to lose weight. Now that you have learned about these weight losing tips, all you need to do is to follow it.
